Service Description

OVERVIEW The Silver National Navigation Award develops the navigation skills acquired at the Bronze level. It adds skills required to navigate to features and places some distance from paths and tracks. It teaches accurate compass work. It will also teach you to select the suitable navigational techniques to cross open country. Silver National Navigation Award courses are taught in areas with access to open country and involve periods where you’ll be navigating away from paths and tracks. The NNAS Silver Navigator Award is accredited by the Scottish Credit & Qualifications Framework (SCQF) at Level 5 and 2 SCQF credit points are awarded on completion. MINIMUM AGE Ages 12+ HOURS This course runs over 2x 8-hour days, with the assessment taking place on day 2. RATIO The maximum group size for this course is 8 Participants. INCLUDED IN THE PRICE All Course Equipment & Handouts NNAS Silver Certificate (Upon Successful completion of the course) BMC Participation Statement: The BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions.

Cancellation Policy

Cancelation with more than 30 days' notice, we will charge a £25 cancellation fee. Cancelation with between 7 & 30 days' notice, then a 50% refund will be given. Cancelation with less than 7 days' notice, then no refund will be given. We advise taking out cancellation, curtailment and accident insurance. If RSP cancels a booking for any reason, including illness, you will be given the option of either rescheduling your activity, or receiving a full refund. Some courses require a certain ratio to run, if these ratios are not met then the course will not run, and a full refund will be available. RSP staff will communicate with clients to keep them updated on this matter.
